Paul Meacham was the acting director of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Columbia from 2006 to 2010. Meacham took over as acting director on November 15, 2013. He served as the acting assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Heber AZ from 2010 to 2013. Meacham was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008. He previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 1999. The resignation comes two weeks after a meeting between President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. The officials had been negotiating for months to work out a deal to reopen the government. The talks, which were also reported by The New York Times, have become heated between Obama and Obama administration officials over the issue.
